Boat Of My Imagination
A Free Verse Poem
With the newly bloomed lilies of my heart,
I embellished the bouquet of my desires.
With the drops of rain dampening my conscience,
I let my fascination wander.
While the boat of my imagination sailed to the farthest lands,
I gazed upon a charmingly beautiful stranger.
Her eyes were like the restless ocean,
Unaware of the tranquility she held.
Her lips were of oleander's petals,
With the softness of fiery red velvet.
Not knowing who she was,
I tried to call her out gently.
But then a gust of wind wrecked my boat,
And all that was left to me were the shattered pieces of my imagination's boat.
